Police arrest three suspects in Ondo cult raid
Three suspects have been arrested by the Ondo State Police Command after a raid on a suspected cult hideout in Akure. According to spokesperson DSP Abayomi Jimoh, the operation was part of ongoing efforts to tackle cultism and related crimes in the state. The suspects, believed to be members of the Supreme Eiye Confraternity, were found with weapons and hard drugs. Commissioner of Police Adebowale Lawal thanked the Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun for his support and urged youths to avoid cultism.
What happened
- Three suspects, Damilola (aka ‘2Gbaski’), Uthman, and Akinwale, were arrested on February 10 at about 11 pm in the Arakale area of Akure.
- Items recovered from the suspects included an axe, a beret cap, a walkie-talkie, tramadol sachets, suspected marijuana, and an ice bunker.
- The suspects have confessed to involvement in cult-related activities and other crimes.
- The police are continuing their investigation to identify more accomplices and recover additional evidence.
