Landlords in Lagos face demolition and extortion by suspected landgrabbers

What happened
- Suspected landgrabbers, Omo Onile, invaded Surulere Community, Amikanle, near the Command area of Alimosho Local Government Area.
- The thugs reportedly arrived on Tuesday January 27, 2026, demanding between N15m and N25m from house owners and demolishing properties of those unable to pay.
- Over 50 buildings, including homes, shops, and fences, have been destroyed, with about 300 hoodlums involved in the operation.
- Residents said the group claimed to have court documents from the Federal Housing Authority, but the FHA denied authorizing any demolition or money collection.
