LASEPA and UNIDO train vendors and waste workers on cholera prevention
The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency and United Nations Industrial Development Organisation have launched a programme to help informal food and water vendors and waste workers prevent cholera outbreaks in Lagos. The initiative, funded by the Government of Japan, brings together government agencies, development partners, and community stakeholders. Dr Babatunde Ajayi, Adebowale Tolulope, Barr. Khadijat Adeyemo, Engr. Adefemi Afolabi, and Dr Hassan Sanuth all highlighted the importance of environmental sanitation, safe water, and proper waste management. The project aims to build awareness and capacity among those most at risk, with a focus on hygiene and community collaboration.
