
LPPC rejects new legal title, affirms SAN as top rank
The Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee has officially rejected the use of the “Blue Silk” title within the legal community. In a statement signed by Kabir Akanbi, the committee emphasized that only the Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) is recognized as the highest professional distinction for lawyers in Nigeria. The LPPC warned that using or parading the “Blue Silk” title could breach professional conduct rules. The committee reaffirmed its commitment to preserving the integrity and exclusivity of the SAN rank.
