
Three arrested in Anambra for firearm and drug offences
Three suspects have been apprehended by the Anambra State Police Command for unlawful possession of a firearm and involvement in illicit drug activities. The arrests took place at a motel in Uke, Idemili North Local Government Area. According to police spokesperson SP Tochukwu Ikenga, the operation was carried out by the Rapid Response Squad, Awkuzu. One of the suspects, Ifeanyi Ibeabuchi, reportedly confessed to the crime.
What happened
- The suspects, Ifeanyi Ibeabuchi (39), Abdullahi Shaibu (26), and Obah Chima (18), were arrested at a motel in Uke, Idemili North LGA.
- Police recovered a Jojef pump-action gun loaded with three live cartridges during the search.
- Substances suspected to be cannabis sativa, crystal methamphetamine, colos, and mkpuru-mmiri were also found.
- Ifeanyi Ibeabuchi confessed to the crime, leading to the arrest of the other two suspects.
- The Anambra State Police Command has reiterated its commitment to ongoing operations against criminal elements in the state.
