Bandits attack Kwara village for hours before help arrives
The head of Woro community, Umar Bio Salihu, reported that armed bandits operated in the area for about 10 hours before security forces responded. He said the attack resulted in dozens of deaths and the destruction of several villages, with at least 75 people buried so far. Salihu noted that the attackers belonged to the Mamuda terrorist group and that the community had previously lost its military presence after an earlier assault on the base. The Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, and President Bola Tinubu have since taken steps to address the situation.
