Cassava peels to be turned into animal feed in new partnership
The National Root Crops Research Institute (NRCRI) in Umudike, Abia State, has partnered with Barn Holdings Limited to process cassava peels and other root crop by-products into animal feed. The collaboration aims to boost food security, create jobs, and support Nigeria’s livestock industry. Professor Chiedozie Egesi of NRCRI and Tony Jibunoh of Barn Holdings signed a memorandum to formalize the partnership. The project is expected to utilize agricultural waste and improve livestock productivity across the region.
