Kano company launches new facility to support local seed production
A Kano-based agribusiness, SeedPro Africa, has opened a vegetable seeds processing facility to enhance local tomato and pepper seed production. The company, formerly known as Seed Project Company Limited, aims to reduce dependence on imported seeds and help farmers manage foreign exchange challenges. Dr Zainab Gwadabe, the CEO, highlighted the launch of six new seed varieties and a home gardening kit during the company’s 20th anniversary celebration. The initiative also includes a partnership with the Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund to empower women farmers and expand seed production in Kano State.
