What happened
- The attack on police officers reportedly occurred on January 30, 2026, during a routine stop-and-search operation along Ogbofu Road.
- A team from the Akukwu-Igbo Division, led by an ASP and four other officers, was ambushed by assailants wielding machetes.
- One officer sustained severe head injuries and was taken to the Specialist Hospital in Asaba for treatment.
