
APGA announces schedule for Anambra 2026 LG primaries
The All Progressives Grand Alliance has released its provisional timetable for the 2026 local government primaries in Anambra State. According to Ejimofor Opara, the schedule was approved in line with the party’s constitution and the guidelines of the Anambra State Independent Electoral Commission. The timetable outlines key dates for the sale of forms, screening, congresses, and primary elections. Genevieve Osakwe of ANSIEC also emphasized the commission’s commitment to credible elections.

- Sale and submission of forms will occur at APGA’s Awka Regional Secretariat from January 27 to February 6.

- Ward congresses to elect councillorship candidates and ad hoc delegates are scheduled for February 14, and the chairmanship primary will be held on February 15.
- Political party primaries will run from December 18, 2025, to February 16, 2026, and all payments for nomination forms are non-refundable.
