
Man arrested in Adamawa for allegedly killing brother
Three men have been named in a case involving the alleged killing of a man in Adamawa State. Abubakar Sadiq was arrested by police after reportedly confessing to the crime. Two other alleged accomplices were killed during a confrontation with law enforcement.
What happened
- Abubakar Sadiq, 40, was arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly killing his elder brother, Alhaji Sadiq Kawu, in Gombi LGA.
- The crime occurred on January 20, 2026, and the suspect confessed to the act, implicating five others.
- Police recovered an AK-47 rifle and 24 rounds of live ammunition, as well as other weapons from the scene.
- Two alleged accomplices, Jalo Hamiyu and Umar Baba, were neutralised after opening fire on police during an attempted arrest.
- The Commissioner of Police, Dankombo Morris, commended the officers involved and urged the public to support police efforts with credible information.
