
Lagos to restrict traffic for mini-marathon supporting Tinubu
Bola Tinubu is set to be honored with a mini-marathon in Lagos, prompting traffic restrictions in parts of Agege. The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) has issued an advisory for motorists to use alternative routes during the event. The marathon, tagged ‘Run for Asiwaju 2027,’ aims to promote unity and support for Bola Tinubu. The event features various categories and prize incentives for participants.
What happened
- The mini-marathon is organised by the Orile-Agege LCDA under chairman Dipo Liadi to support Bola Tinubu.
- The route covers Agege Local Government Area, Odo Eran, Oba Ogunji, Oke Koto, Oniwaya, Dopemu, Babajide Sanwo-Olu Road, Agbotikuyo, Old Ipaja Motor Road, and ends at Orile Agege LCDA.
- LASTMA advised motorists to use alternative routes, including Ogba to Excellent Hotel via College Road to Iju Road, and Moshalashi Alhaja via Mobil Ashade.
- Prizes include ₦2.3 million in total, with 200 finishers receiving ₦10,000 each and seven elite athletes getting ₦50,000 each.
- Mudashiru Obasa, Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, endorsed the event and will participate in the VIP category.
