
Three arrested for trying to sell stolen tricycle in Enugu
Three suspects have been apprehended by the Enugu State Police Command for allegedly attempting to sell a stolen commercial tricycle. The suspects, identified as Chuka Nwanze, Arinze Anyansi, and Miracle Anyadiegwu, were caught at the Ugbodogwu area of Trans-Ekulu. Police say the tricycle was stolen from the Obiagu area and was recovered during the arrest. Authorities stress the importance of vigilance and security measures for vehicle owners.
What happened
- Chuka Nwanze (23), Arinze Anyansi (24), and Miracle Anyadiegwu (24) were arrested on January 20, 2026, at about 5 pm by police and Neighbourhood Watch members.
- The suspects were caught while seeking a buyer for a stolen Bajaj tricycle in the Ugbodogwu area of Trans-Ekulu, Enugu.
- During questioning, the suspects confessed to stealing the tricycle, which had been parked in the Obiagu area of Enugu on the night of January 19.
- Police recovered the yellow and black Bajaj tricycle, which bore Bauchi registration number NNG 445 WZ, and learned the suspects were also attempting to sell its tyres and other parts.
- An investigation is ongoing to find other members of the syndicate, and the suspects will be charged in court after the investigation.
