Police rescue abducted Gombe community leader and arrest suspects
Hassan Reuben, a community leader from Nahuta Village in Gombe State, was rescued by the police after being kidnapped. The Gombe State Police Command reported that three women suspected to be accomplices were also arrested. The rescue operation was conducted with the help of local vigilantes and hunters. Police say investigations are ongoing and further updates will be provided.
What happened
- Hassan Reuben was abducted on 20 January 2026 in Nahuta Village, Tula, Kaltungo Local Government Area.
- Police received information about the kidnapping at around 11:00 am on January 21 and launched a rescue operation.
- The victim was rescued unhurt on the same date at Tule Berbere, near Kunge Village in Awak District.
- Three women, Aisha Salihu, Fati Ado, and Adama Buba, were arrested in connection with the crime.
