Police rescue community leader and arrest three in Gombe
A kidnapped community leader, Hon. Hassan Reuben, has been rescued by the Gombe State Police Command. The abduction took place in Nahuta Village, Tula, within Kaltungo Local Government Area. Police operatives, along with vigilantes and local hunters, were involved in the successful operation. Three women suspected to be accomplices have also been arrested, and investigations are ongoing.
What happened
- The kidnapping of Hon. Hassan Reuben occurred on 20 January 2026 in Nahuta Village, Tula, Kaltungo Local Government Area.
- The police received information about the incident at around 11:00 am on January 21 and launched immediate action.
- Hon. Hassan Reuben was rescued unhurt on the same day at Tule Berbere, near Kunge Village in Awak District.
- Three women, Aisha Salihu, Fati Ado, and Adama Buba, suspected to be accomplices, were arrested in the area where the victim was found.
- The Gombe State Police Command stated that investigations are ongoing and promised to provide further updates.
