NSCDC arrests five over stolen railway tracks in Bauchi
The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) in Bauchi State has intercepted a truck loaded with vandalised railway tracks. Five suspects were arrested in connection with the incident, while others remain at large. According to spokesperson Saminu Yusuf, the operation was based on credible intelligence. The NSCDC urged residents to report suspicious activities to help protect public infrastructure.
What happened
- NSCDC operatives intercepted a truck carrying vandalised railway tracks and slippers, concealed with bags of chicken feed, along the Miri–Jos Road on January 12, 2026.
- Five suspects were arrested: Adam Kolo, Samuel Musa, Solomon Jankaro, Emmanuel Collins, and Sunday David.
- The truck was allegedly heading to the eastern part of the country before being stopped near Gital town in Tafawa Balewa Local Government Area.
- Recovered items included 80 pieces of railway tracks, five pairs of slippers, bags of chicken feed, a long vehicle truck, and a Lexus RX 330.
- In a separate case, Nura Abdullahi was arrested on January 14, 2026, for alleged motorcycle theft, with ongoing efforts to apprehend other syndicate members.
