NERC warns about rising deaths from electricity accidents
The Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) has expressed concern over the increasing number of electricity-related accidents and fatalities in Nigeria’s power sector. The Commission attributes most of these incidents to human error, poor technical skills, and inadequate training. At a recent stakeholders’ engagement, officials emphasized the urgent need for better vocational training and stronger safety standards. NAPTIN and other industry stakeholders highlighted the importance of building skilled manpower to ensure a safer and more efficient power sector.
