Amotekun arrests 32 suspected criminals in Ondo
A total of 32 suspected criminals have been apprehended by the Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun. The suspects are alleged to be involved in kidnapping, theft, conspiracy, attempted murder, and violating anti-grazing laws. Adetunji Adeleye, the State Commander, highlighted that the arrests followed intelligence-led operations across various locations in the state. Several of those arrested were linked to recent kidnapping cases and other criminal activities.
What happened
- Adetunji Adeleye said 12 suspects were arrested for breaching public law and order, three for anti-grazing offences, and 17 for kidnap-related crimes.
- A group of three men allegedly attempted to kill their employer after roasting 10 of his cows in Idoani.
- Two suspects, Pius and John, were arrested in Oba Akoko during a planned ransom exchange, while others connected to kidnapping remain at large.
- Additional arrests were made in Ile-Oluji, Ondo town, Akin Camp, and Agbogbo area of Akure for various offences including theft and conspiracy.
- The Amotekun Corps recently intercepted a truck carrying 38 men who could not provide a definite destination during interrogation.
