
Amotekun arrests 32 suspects for various crimes in Ondo
The Ondo State Security Network Agency, known as Amotekun, has apprehended 32 individuals suspected of involvement in crimes such as kidnapping, theft, and conspiracy. Adetunji Adeleye, the State Commander of Amotekun Corps, revealed that the arrests were made through coordinated surveillance and intelligence operations. The suspects include those linked to anti-grazing law violations, attempted murder, and farmer-herder clashes. Adeleye stated that Ondo State remains peaceful and that criminal activities are decreasing.
What happened
- Adetunji Adeleye said 12 suspects were arrested for breaching public law and order, and 17 were connected to kidnap-related crimes.
- Three men allegedly attempted to kill their Fulani employer after roasting 10 of his cows in Idoani.
- Two suspects, Pius and John, were arrested in Oba Akoko during an ambush at a suspected ransom exchange point.
- Other suspects, including Elura, Alilu, Adamu, and Kamal, were arrested in Ile-Oluji and Ondo town for various criminal activities.
- The commander noted that the arrests followed the interception of a Mercedes-Benz truck carrying 38 men who could not provide a clear destination in Akure.
