Rivers APC urges chief judge to obey court order on impeachment
The Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has asked Chief Judge Justice Simeon Amadi to comply with a court injunction restraining him from acting on any resolution from the House of Assembly. The APC’s Publicity Secretary, Darlington Nwauju, released a statement criticizing the lawmakers’ move to proceed with impeachment proceedings against Governor Siminalayi Fubara and Deputy Governor Prof. Ngozi Odu. The party described the lawmakers’ actions as a “legislative coup d’état” and warned of potential harm to the APC’s standing in the state. The statement called on the party’s national leadership to intervene and protect the party’s interests.
