Police rescue kidnap victims and arrest suspects in Nasarawa
The Nasarawa State Police Command has made notable progress in tackling crime, arresting 12 suspects and rescuing seven kidnap victims. Shetima Mohammed, the Commissioner of Police, highlighted these achievements during a press briefing at the Command Headquarters in Lafia. The operations led to the recovery of firearms, ammunition, and cash believed to be linked to criminal activities. The police also repelled attacks and neutralised a suspected kidnapper during their efforts.

- Several firearms, magazines, rounds of ammunition, a motorcycle, and ₦200,000 in cash were recovered during the operations.

- Two suspected kidnappers, Musa Ahmed and Adamu Yusuf, were arrested on January 2, 2026, after allegedly attempting to bribe police officers with ₦200,000, which was rejected and seized.
