National honours awarded to Nigerian Army heroes and veterans
The Federal Government has honoured members of the Nigerian Army, including fallen heroes and veterans, for their gallantry and service. Among those recognised was Brigadier General Musa Uba, who was posthumously awarded for his exceptional courage during operations in Borno State. Other top officers and veterans received awards for leadership, innovation, and operational excellence. President Bola Tinubu praised the Armed Forces and announced new initiatives to honour military personnel.

- National honours were presented at the Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day Gala Night at the State House Banquet Hall, Abuja, on Tuesday.
- Brigadier General Musa Uba received the Gallantry Award for leading troops during counter-insurgency operations in Borno State and was killed in an ambush in November 2025.
- Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, Chief of Army Staff, received the Service and Sacrifice Award for his leadership in security operations.
- Other recipients included Major General Abdulsalami Enesi Abubakar, Major General Faruk Mijinyawa, Brigadier General Usman Ahmad, Colonel Ibrahim Mohammed Gero, Colonel B. Umaru (posthumously), and Lieutenant Colonel Thomas Ebisingha Alari (posthumously).
- President Bola Tinubu, represented by Mohammed Idris, announced the Thank-A-Soldier Electronic Wall and the My Nigerian Hero Campaign to honour serving personnel and veterans.
