Army detains two men over suspected arms trafficking in Taraba
Troops from Operation Whirl Stroke have arrested two men suspected of illegal arms trading in Taraba State. The Nigerian Army disclosed the arrests on its official X account, highlighting the coordinated efforts with the Defence Intelligence Agency. Christopher Adamu, also known as "Suffer," and James Yangyang were apprehended in separate locations following credible intelligence. The Army says both suspects are in custody and investigations are ongoing.

- Items recovered from Adamu included identification cards, ATM cards, a mobile phone, and assorted charms.
- Adamu reportedly confessed to working with an accomplice known as "Chmn" from Shomo Gari, Karim Lamido Local Government Area.
- Acting on information from the first arrest, troops apprehended James Yangyang, aged 37, at Tautre Village near Anguwan Bera in Ardo Kola Local Government Area.
- Investigations revealed Adamu had sold an AK-47 rifle to Mr Bazoe John of Murbai Village, Ardo Kola LGA, in November 2025.
