
Foundation to mark Ladoke Akintola’s 60th memorial anniversary

The event will bring together prominent figures, including President Bola Tinubu, South-West governors, and traditional rulers. Akintola was a notable Nigerian lawyer, journalist, and politician, remembered for his leadership and contributions to the country. The anniversary aims to reflect on his political ideals and lasting impact on Nigeria.

- The 60th memorial anniversary of Chief Ladoke Akintola will be held on Thursday, January 29 at the International Conference Centre, University of Ibadan, at 10:00 a.m.
- Governor Seyi Makinde will serve as a guest speaker, with Prof Akinjide Osuntokun also speaking at the event.
- President Bola Tinubu, all South-West governors, and other state governors are special guests of honour.
- The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, will chair the ceremony, while Ambassador Abayomi Akintola, Dr Abimbola Akintola, and Justice Ladiran Akintola are chief hosts.
- The event will honour Akintola’s legacy and re-examine his role in the political evolution of the old Western Region and Nigeria.
