
Oyo police rescue two kidnapped minors and arrest murder suspects
Three minors were rescued by the Oyo State Police Command after a kidnapping incident in Akinsapon Village. The police also arrested four suspects linked to the abduction and seven others connected to a murder in Atisbo Local Government Area. Femi Haruna, the state Commissioner of Police, highlighted these achievements as results of intelligence-led policing. The rescued minors have been reunited with their families and investigations are ongoing.
What happened
- Two brothers, Hadu Abubakar and Sadari Abubakar, were abducted by unknown gunmen near Ayétòrò-Ìlè, prompting immediate police action.
- Four suspects—Abubakar Abubakar, Usman Mohammed, Sanda Legi, and Dore Hado—were arrested in connection with the kidnapping.
- Police recovered two cutlasses, a sander stick, and N15,700 from the suspects, who confessed to the crime.
- In a separate case, seven people were arrested for allegedly killing Seidu Amisu during a dispute over cattle rearing in Ofiki Village.
- The murder suspects reportedly tried to conceal the crime by secretly burying the victim, but were apprehended and confessed to the offence.
