Gombe farmers face rising hippo attacks on farmlands
Some farmers in Hinna Community, Yamaltu-Deba Local Government Area of Gombe State, say hippopotamus attacks are destroying their crops and livelihoods. Zakari Ladan, the head of farmers in the area, reported that the hippo population has grown and is causing significant damage. The animals are affecting both farmers and fishermen, leading to large financial losses. Farmers are appealing for urgent help from authorities to protect their lives and means of income.
