
Bandit attack leaves 30 dead and many kidnapped in Niger State market
Armed bandits attacked Kasuwan Daji market in Demo village, Kabe District, Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State, killing 30 villagers and abducting many others. The attackers set the market ablaze, looted food items, and shot at villagers before escaping towards the Kainji Lake National Park forest. Wasiu Abiodun, spokesperson for the Niger State Police Command, confirmed the incident and said joint security teams are working to rescue the kidnapped victims. This attack follows a previous mass abduction at St. Mary’s Private Catholic Primary and Secondary School in Papiri, Niger State.
