
Bauchi commissioner sent back to prison despite bail approval
Yakubu Adamu, the Bauchi State Commissioner for Finance, has been ordered by a Federal High Court in Abuja to return to Kuje Correctional Centre. The court granted him bail but required strict conditions, including a N500m bond and two sureties who are landowners in specific Abuja districts. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission charged Adamu and Ayab Agro Products and Freight Company Ltd in a case involving about N4.6bn. Several other individuals and companies are implicated in the alleged money laundering and related offences.
