
Police in Bauchi recover assets and secure convictions in crime cases
The Bauchi State Police Command has reported significant progress in tackling crime, securing numerous convictions and recovering valuable assets. According to a statement by spokesperson Nafiu Habib, the command has implemented various proactive measures to protect lives and property. What happened
- The Bauchi State Police Command secured at least 124 convictions in various criminal cases and recovered assets valued at about N54m between January and December 2025.
- The command recorded 881 cases and arrested 1,532 suspects during this period, with 880 cases charged to court.
- Items recovered included firearms, ammunition, vehicles, motorcycles, counterfeit currency, mobile phones, and other stolen or vandalised property.
- The value of properties lost, stolen, or damaged was estimated at N129.8m, while recovered items were valued at N54.2m during the year under review.
- The police credited public information and inter-agency collaboration for their successes and stated plans to deploy more proactive strategies for continued security.
