
Over 3,000 suspects arrested for crimes in Kano
Ibrahim Bakori, the Commissioner of Police in Kano State, announced the arrest of 3,081 suspects for crimes such as armed robbery, kidnapping, drug trafficking, and thuggery. The arrests were made across different parts of the state. Bakori highlighted several achievements in crime prevention since assuming office on March 17, 2025. He emphasized the importance of community cooperation in maintaining security.

- The Kano State Police Command arrested 3,081 suspects for various crimes in 2025.
- Among those arrested were 146 armed robbery suspects, 50 kidnapping suspects, 112 suspected drug dealers, and over 2,300 suspected thugs.
- Fourteen kidnap victims were rescued during police operations.
- The command recovered firearms, ammunition, illicit drugs, stolen vehicles, motorcycles, tricycles, and mobile phones.
