
NSCDC arrests eight after Katsina outpost attack
Eight suspects have been arrested by the Katsina State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps following an attack on its outpost in Koraman Nayalli. The command’s spokesperson, Buhari Hamisu, confirmed the arrests and detailed the events surrounding the incident. A protest erupted after the death of a suspected drug peddler named Uzairu, also known as ‘Dan’kuda’. The NSCDC says a thorough investigation has been ordered by the state Commandant, Abbas Moriki.
What happened
- Buhari Hamisu reported that miscreants stormed the NSCDC outpost at Koraman Nayalli, setting the building on fire.
- Three motorcycles and other property belonging to the outpost were destroyed during the attack.
- The group also targeted nearby NSCDC and police outposts at Filin Kanada.
- Special Response Squads from NSCDC and police restored order and normalcy.
- Abbas Moriki has set up a seven-man committee to investigate and warned criminals to desist from illegal activities.
