Army cracks down on oil theft in Niger Delta
The 6 Division of the Nigerian Army has arrested 19 suspected oil thieves and destroyed 22 illegal refining sites across the Niger Delta. Lt. Col. Jonah Danjuma stated that these actions were part of a coordinated operation with other security agencies. Over 180,000 litres of stolen petroleum products, valued at about N150 million, were recovered. The Army says it will continue efforts to curb oil theft and related crimes in the region.
