Over 7,000 forest guards graduate to boost security in seven states
The Federal Government has graduated more than 7,000 newly recruited forest guards from seven states after a three-month training programme. The graduation ceremonies took place on December 27, 2025, in Borno, Sokoto, Yobe, Adamawa, Niger, Kwara, and Kebbi. The initiative was launched in May 2025 by President Bola Tinubu to improve internal security and protect forest areas from criminal activities. Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser, said the guards would be deployed immediately to support other security agencies.
