
Fire breaks out at high-rise building on Lagos Island
A fire has erupted at the Great Nigeria Insurance House on Martins Street, Lagos Island. The building, which houses warehouses for clothing materials, offices, and shops, was engulfed in flames as emergency responders rushed to the scene. Officials from the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency and the Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that firefighting and rescue operations are ongoing. What happened
- The fire reportedly started from one of the offices on the fourth floor before spreading to higher floors.
- Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, said the cause of the fire is still unknown.
