
Ten killed in Plateau road crash involving four vehicles
In Plateau State, a tragic road accident along the Jos–Bauchi Road has resulted in the deaths of 10 people. The crash, which involved two trailers and two Ford Galaxy minibuses, left several others injured and in need of hospital care. The Federal Road Safety Corps confirmed that reckless driving and excessive speed were major factors in the incident. Authorities are urging motorists to avoid dangerous driving habits to prevent further tragedies.
What happened
- The accident took place after the Military Check Point along Jos–Bauchi Road, involving four vehicles.
- Nineteen people were involved: 17 males and two females, with 10 adult men dying on the spot.
- Injured victims were taken to General Hospital, Miango; Jos University Teaching Hospital; and Plateau State Specialist Hospital.
- Eight corpses were deposited at Plateau Specialist Hospital and Bingham University Teaching Hospital morgues, while two were claimed by NURTW officials.
- The rescue operation involved the FRSC, Nigerian Police, Nigerian Military officers, and local villagers.
