Fatal Kogi road accident leaves 12 dead and two injured

A tragic road accident occurred along the Ejule–Enugu highway in Kogi State, resulting in the deaths of 12 people and injuries to two others. The incident happened late at night when a passenger bus collided with a stationary vehicle due to over-speeding. What happened
- The crash took place around 11:30 pm in the Iboko community of Idah Local Government Area on June 5, 2025.
- An 18-seater Toyota Hiace bus, traveling from Abuja, crashed into a parked articulated vehicle after reportedly over-speeding.
- Mr Tenimu Etuku stated that one of the deceased was a child, and the injured were taken to Mercy of Jesus Hospital, Ejule.
- The FRSC has emphasized the dangers of excessive speed and reckless overtaking, especially during festive seasons.
