NBA-SPIDEL provides solar borehole to help Uyo inmates
The Nigerian Bar Association Section on Public Interest and Development Law (NBA-SPIDEL) has donated a solar-powered borehole to the Uyo Custodial Centre in Akwa Ibom. The move aims to resolve a severe water shortage affecting over 1,500 inmates. During the event on December 1, 2023, Chairperson Uju Agomoh also pledged free legal support for 115 inmates without representation. The donation follows a plea from the centre’s staff for a lasting solution to their water crisis.
