Zamfara launches new initiative to improve maternal and newborn care
The Zamfara Ministry of Health has introduced the Safe Delivery Initiative to enhance maternal and newborn health services. The programme was launched at Unguwar Dallatu Primary Healthcare Centre in Gusau. Dr Nafisa Maradun said the plan includes upgrading delivery rooms and providing skilled birth attendants.
"This pilot initiative begins with four health facilities... with plans to expand to 23 facilities across all 14 LGAs."
