
Lagos woman arrested for faking her own kidnap to get ransom from husband
A 26-year-old Lagos woman, Misturah, has been arrested for allegedly staging her own kidnapping to extort N2.5m from her husband. The incident was reported to police after her supposed abduction on November 24, 2024. Investigations revealed that Misturah orchestrated the plan with the help of an online acquaintance and later sold her phone, which she claimed was stolen. Police say the case is still under investigation as similar incidents have occurred in the past.
