Five more suspects arrested in Port Harcourt robbery case
Police in Rivers State have apprehended five additional suspects connected to recent robberies at the Dr Obi Wali International Cultural Centre and Tottinno Filling Station in Port Harcourt. This brings the total number of suspects in custody to nine, following weeks of intelligence-led investigations. The arrests, announced by spokesperson Grace Iringe-Koko on December 16, 2025, were made at various locations in the city. Authorities say key stolen items have also been recovered as investigations continue.
What happened
- Five more suspects were arrested in connection with the Port Harcourt robberies, raising the total to nine.
- The suspects were apprehended at different locations in the Diobu and Ikoku areas between November 25 and November 28, 2025.
- Police recovered a 30KVA generator, inverter batteries, and two rifles as part of the investigation.
- The alleged gang leader, Bright Nwabueze (“Bishop M”), was previously arrested at the Rumuokoro flyover.
- Commissioner Olugbenga Adepoju praised the police team and urged the public to continue supporting efforts to combat crime.
