
Infant and woman die in Lagos crash as driver overspeeds
A tragic road accident occurred along Ikorodu Road in Lagos, resulting in the deaths of an infant and a woman. According to the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, the crash happened around noon on Sunday when two commercial vehicles collided. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, LASEMA’s Permanent Secretary, confirmed that speeding and reckless lane changing caused the fatal incident. The accident also left eight others injured and required emergency response teams at the scene.

- The crash took place at about 12 p.m. on Sunday along the Obanikoro area of Ikorodu Road.
- A red commercial bus lost control while speeding and collided with another fully loaded commercial bus.
- Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu stated that ten people were involved, with eight sustaining injuries and two—an infant and a woman—losing their lives.
- Emergency responders from LASAMBUS and FRSC treated the injured and transported them to the hospital.
- The deceased were handed over to state officials, and the accident vehicles were given to the police for further investigation.
